区别辨析take、grasp、grab、grip、clasp、clutch、snatch与seize

take、grasp、grab、grip、clasp、clutch、snatch与seize这些动词均有“抓住、握紧”之意。

take : 最普通用词,不带感情色彩。指用手抓、取某东西或控制某物。

  • He took hold of the plant's root and pulled.
    他抓住植物的根部往上拔。

grasp : 指紧紧抓住、抓牢。

  • Rosie suddenly grasped my hand.
    罗茜突然抓住了我的手。

grab : 指粗暴而急迫的抓住。

  • A mugger grabbed her handbag as she was walking across the park.
    她穿过公园时一个劫匪抢了她的手提包。

grip语气比grasp强,指用手的最大力量紧紧抓住。

  • The baby gripped my finger with her tiny hand.
    婴儿的小手紧紧握住我的手指。

clasp : 指用手紧握或用臂紧抱。

  • He was clasping the vase tightly, terrified of dropping it.
    他紧紧抱住花瓶,生怕把它摔了。

clutch : 强调匆忙、紧急地抓、抓紧。

  • Silent and pale, she clutched (onto) her mother's hand.
    她一声不吭,面色苍白,死死抓着母亲的手。

snatch : 指突然抢走,侧重动作更快或更具暴力性质。

  • He snatched the photos out of my hand before I had a chance to look at them.
    我还没来得及看,他就一把抢走了我手里的照片。

seize : 指突然抓住某物,强调突然的猛烈动作。

  • I seized his arm and made him turn to look at me.
    我抓住他的胳膊,让他转身看着我。
