英语演讲 | Richard M. Nixon: Checkers
I come before you tonight as a candidate for the Vice Presidency and as a man whose honesty and -- and integrity has been questioned.
I come before you tonight as a candidate for the Vice Presidency and as a man whose honesty and -- and integrity has been questioned.
It was one hundred and forty-four years ago that members of the Democratic Party first met in convention to select a Presidential candidate.
Yesterday, December 7th, 1941 -- a date which will live in infamy -- the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.
So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself -- nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.
And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."
