1.under the circumstances（事情既然这样，既然如此）比in the circumstances普通些。under no circumstances（决不）比in no circumstances普通得多。in good circumstances（处境良好），in flourishing circumstances（处境兴盛），in reduced circumstances（处境比以前困苦）等表达方式里都只可用in，不可用under。注意各种表达方式里都用复数形式circumstances。

2.注意Under no circumstances should we depart from the pirnciple里用should we，不用we should。
