有一读者问： the Olympic Games （或the Olympics）之后的谓语动词，有的用单数，有的用复数，你的看法呢？
the Olympic Games既可看作单一竞赛，用单数动词；亦可看作一系列竞赛，用复数动词。似乎多用复数动词，如：
(1)The Olympic Games are held in a different country on each occasion.
(2)The 1992 Summer Olympics were held in Barcelona.
(3)The Olympics are governed by the International Olympic Committee.
(4)The Olympic Games were held in Australia in 1956.
用单数动词的情况似乎较少，如：
(5)The Olympics takes place every four years.
