railroad（铁路）在英国现在不通用，但在美国比railway 普通。

注意下面第一句和第二句里没有the，第三句里有the：

he races指“赛马”。例如：He met them at the races.

quote the book和quote from the book意思相同，quote the author和quote from the author也意思相同。

quotation有时统指一切引语。例如：The book has a wealth of illustrative quotation.

quiz（名词）用作“非正式的考试”解和（动词）用作“对（学生）举行非正式的考试”和“举行非正式的考试”解是美国英语。

quite right和all right都可以说。也有人说quite all right，但这种说法不合理，该避免。

quit的过去式和过去分词在英国通常是quitted，在美国通常是quit。

quietly有时用作感叹语，作“轻一些！”解。例如：Quietly! Don't wake her up.

quick（形容词）to...（不定式）作“（在性情或智力上）易于…”解。

out of question是状语短语，作“必定地”解，现在很不普通。out of the question是形容词短语，作“必不可能的”解。

ueen是“王后”，不是“皇后”。“皇后”是empress。
