区别辨析seat与sit

seat与sit这两个动词均含“坐”之意。

seat : 及物动词，常与反身代词连用，常用过去分词seated形式。

• He seated himself behind the desk.
  他在书桌后面坐下。

sit : 多用作不及物动词，用作及物动词时，可与seat换用。

• She sat and stared at the letter in front of her.
  她坐在那儿，凝视着面前的那封信。
