区别辨析accuse与charge

accuse与charge这两个动词均有“指控、谴责”之意。

accuse :普通用词,正式或非正式场合,私人或法律上均可用。被指控的情节可轻可重。常与of连用。

  • When Mr. Basuki landed a jab at an opponent who had accused him of disrespecting Islam, the family let out a cheer.
    当对手指责钟万学(Basuki Purnama)不尊重伊斯兰教,遭他反唇相讥时,全家人发出了欢呼。

charge :常与 accuse 换用,但 charge 多指较严重的错误或罪行,而且往往向法庭提出正式起诉。
