grow(n)

1.grow往往作“渐渐成为”解，如He grows old quickly和The weather is growing cold。把old和cold改作older和colder也可以，但不及用原级普通。

2.下面三句意思相同：

• He has grown (up) a handsome young man.
• He has grown (up) into a handsome young man.
• He has grown up to be a handsome young man.

把各句里的has改作is也可以，但现在不普通。

3.不及物动词grow的过去分词grown有时被用作形容词，作“已长成的”解，如She is now quite a grown girl和He is going to live with his daughter, now grown and the mother of a family。It is a town grown prosperous and beautiful里的grown也用作形容词。
