intention
1.intention在单独用的时候，后面通常接不定式，如intention to be useful和intention to help everybody。intention前面用了my，your，no，the，an，some，any，all，every等词，后面通常接of和动名词，如my intention of going，no intention of doing so，some intention of trying again和every intention of seeing them。复数形式intentions后接of和动名词，如intentions of doing good。
2.intention in ...ing和intention of ...ing意思不同，比较下面两句：
- My intention in writing this book is to tell the story of the poet's life from my personal knowledge of him.
- I have told the poet of my intention of telling the story of his life from my personal knowledge of him.
3.intentions并不专指“多个意图”，如下面各句里的intentions并没有“多个”的意思：
- I don't doubt your intentions, but I wonder whether you are doing it in the right way.
- Philip meditated a fresh attempt, but concealed his intentions.
- Everybody believes in the good intentions of the promoters of the plan.
