try
- Try to do it.
Try and do it. - I will try to do it.
I will try and do it. - You must try to keep perfectly still for a moment.
You must try and keep perfectly still for a moment.
参见and 5
Have you ever tried to cook?和Have you ever tried cooking?
- He tried to read, but he was too tired to read much.
- He tried reading, but that could not make him forget his trouble.
下面一句里的writing和painting是指“写作”和“绘画”两件事,跟下文various other things处于同等地位,不可改作to write和to paint:
- To make a living. Tom had tried writing, painting, and various other things, but had failed in all.
- Try knocking at the back door if nobody hears you at the front door.
- Try cooking the vegetable, if you don't like it uncooked.
3.The judge tried the case yesterday(这审判员昨天审理这案件)等句是英美通用的。The lawyer tried the case yesterday(这律师[在法庭上]昨天办理这案件)等句是美国英语。
Let me have a try at it. 和I had three tries and succeeded each time.
