Offshore haven

A jurisdiction which imposes little or no tax on transactions or profits and thus is chosen by financial and multinational companies as a hub for some of their activities. Rich individuals also hold money offshore, to reduce their tax bills. The IMF has estimated that governments worldwide lose around $500bn to $600bn a year through the use of offshore havens.
