swallow, bolt, gobble, guzzle, wolf 与 gorge 这些词在用作动词表示“吃”的方式时意思相近。

 (1) ①swallow可作“吞咽，大口咽下”解，通常含有不嚼或很少嚼的意思。

• He just swallows his food; he's always in a hurry.

• She swallowed her bitter medicine with the help of some water.
