swallow, bolt, gobble, guzzle, wolf 与 gorge 这些词在用作动词表示“吃”的方式时意思相近。
(1) ①swallow可作“吞咽,大口咽下”解,通常含有不嚼或很少嚼的意思。
- He just swallows his food; he's always in a hurry.
