take to, be fond of, be/become/grow attached to 与 be keen on 这几个短语都有“喜爱”的意思,是较随便的用法。
(1) ①take to可作“喜欢上”解,to为介词。
- When they met for the first time, they took to each other at once.
他们一见钟情。 - I don't think I could ever take to the so-called pop music.
我想我永远不会喜欢上所谓的流行音乐。
②take to还有“养成(某种爱好),喜欢(做某事),开始(做某事)”之意。
- He has taken to angling at the weekends.
他喜欢上了周末去钓鱼。 - He took to drink/drinking shortly after his wife died.
他妻子死后不久,他开始酗酒。
(2) be fond of意为“喜欢,爱好”。
- Are you fond of Chinese food?
你喜欢中国食物吗?
He's very fond of her.
他非常喜欢她。
(3) be attached to可表示“喜爱,对……有感情”,尤指长时间的喜爱、依恋;用become, grow时,则暗含变化的过程。
- She's very attached to her parents.
她非常依恋她的父母。 - He had become attached to her.
他已喜欢上了她。 - I lived there for a decade and naturally I am much attached to that place.
我在那里生活了10年,自然对那里很有感情。
(4) be keen on表示“热衷于,迫切想(做某事),对……有强烈兴趣”,语气较强。
- He is keen on her.
他非常喜欢她。 - Are you keen on going abroad?
你非常想出国吗? - She wasn't keen on buying a dress now but we talked her into it.
现在她不是很想买衣服,但我们还是说服她买了。
