Rowan Atkinson

Rowan Sebastian Atkinson (1955- ) is an English actor, comedian, and screenwriter best known for his work on the sitcoms Mr. Bean and Blackadder.
罗温·塞巴斯蒂安·艾金森(1955— )是一名英国影星、喜剧演员和剧作家。他最有名的作品是喜剧《憨豆先生》和《黑爵士》。

Atkinson, the youngest of four brothers, was born in Consett, County Durham, England. As a young adult, Atkinson started out to be an electrical engineer, and received his degrees from Newcastle and Oxford Universities before turning his attentions to performing. He has been listed in The Observer as one of the fifty funniest actors in British comedy. In the 1990s, Atkinson began the silent comedy series, Mr. Bean . It became the highest-rated comedy show on British television, and enjoyed success such as receiving several International Emmys, two Banff Awards.

Atkinson was a stutterer as a child, a condition which sometimes returns when he is in stressful situations. Because of this condition, Atkinson's style is often visually-based. This visual style, which has been compared to Charlie Chaplin, sets Atkinson apart as most modern television and film comedies rely heavily on dialogue, and stand-up comedy is mostly based on monologues. This talent for visual comedy has led to Atkinson being called “the man with the rubber face”.
