Casablanca , an American romantic drama film, has consistently ranked near the top of lists of the greatest films of all time. It is directed by Michael Curtiz, starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid. Set during World War II, it focuses on a man torn between love and virtue. He must make a choice between his love for a woman and helping her husband escape in the fight against the Nazis. The film is interweaved with romance and intrigue.

In early December 1941, Rick Blaine owns an upscale nightclub in Casablanca of Morocco. It attracts a varied clientele including refugees desperate to reach the still neutral United States. Rick coincidentally gets two “letters of transit” which allow the bearer to travel freely around German-controlled Europe. At this point, he sees his true lover at the club, Ilsa who deserted him in Paris. She is accompanied by her husband, Victor Laszlo, a renowned fugitive Czech Resistance leader, to get letters to escape to America.

One night, Ilsa explains that she left Rick without explanation in Paris to tend her ill husband who was found still alive. She is in love with Rick and wants to stay with Rick in Casablanca. Rick makes Ilsa believe that she will stay with him when Laszlo leaves with the letter. At last moment, Rick decides to make Ilsa board the plane to Lisbon with her husband. He joins the Free French.
