此处one 可以代之以 the other

有读者问： 有这样一句话：

It has two stomachs in its body, one for itself and one for carrying food to “the folks back home”.

请问第二个 one 能否被 the other 替代？如可以的话，二者又有什么不同呢？

第二个 one 可以与 the other 互换，但前者似乎较为口语化。
