有一读者问: 有这样三个句子:
(1)She was angry about his laughing at her.
(2)He is very angry with her.
(3)The teacher is angry at his rough behavior.
be angry about, be angry with, be angry at 三者有何区别?
be angry with 仅对人而言,如:
(4)Are you angry with me?
(5)She was very angry with him for keeping her waiting.
be angry about 仅对事而言,常可与 be angry at 互换,但上述例(1)中的 about 不宜代之以 at ,以免与其后的 at 重复。再如:
(6)What are you angry about ?
(7)He was angry about the delay.
be angry at 多针对人的言行而言,再如:
(8)I was angry at his slipshod work.
(9)Anybody will be angry at being kept waiting so long.
但如果表示十分气恼,亦可用 at 指人,如:
(10)We were angry at the boys for their tardiness. (at 强调情绪,如用 with 则强调对象,即 the boys)
