有一读者问：《英语沙龙》某期第41页上有这样一句话：
(1)It is enjoyable to watch the lovely movement of thousands of swans, wild ducks and seagulls, etc. swimming and playing on the water.
此处用 on 好像不好，我认为应该用 in 。这些鸟不可能全部在水面上嬉戏，总有一部分在水中吧？望回答。
这里应用 on。如船在水上航行，虽也有一部分在水中，但仍须用 on ，如：
(2)Boats sail on water.
(3)Let's have a row on the lake.
