有一读者问：根据一些语法书的解说， not only...but also 引导并列主语时， not only 如在句首，全句须倒装，但在一些书中却出现了这样的句子：
(1)Not only he but also I am a teacher.
这是怎么回事？
你引证中的“并列主语”应改为“并列句”就对了。如：
(2)Not only was she a good singer, but she was also a graceful dancer.
(3)Not only did she sing well, but she also danced gracefully.
在这种情况下，句子结构一般需要倒装（也有不倒装的情况）。但例（1）中的 not only...but also 所连接的不是两个分句，而是两个主语（即并列主语），所以不需要倒装，而且也不可能倒装。这种由 not only... but also 将两个主语连接在一起的情况是比较常见的。再如：
(4)Not only my mother but also my sister is here.
(5)Not only he but also I am invited.
(6)Not only I, but （also） all other men say so.
