答案为D。但我认为A也是正确的，因为 spent 可作为不及物动词用。望赐教。
在规范英语中，上述两句皆应选择 that 或留空不填（即省去 that）。在这两句中, spent 只能用作及物动词，不可用作不及物动词。但如果将 spent 换作 were, 即可选择 that （或省去）或 when 了。
