这道题为什么应选in the end?

(1)I'm sure he'll become a singer _____.

A. in a future B. in the end

C. at last D. finally

finally, at last和in the end虽然皆可译作“最终”或“终于”,但它们的用法和含义并不完全相同。

(2)Finally the Internationale was sung.

(3)We waited and waited, and the train finally arrived.

(4)At last he got away.

(5)James has passed his exams at last .

(6)In the end the Chinese team beat the Hungarian team 5:1.

(7)He tried many times to pass the examination, and in the end he succeeded.

(8)We made eight different plans for our holiday but in the end we went to Brighton again.
