有一读者问:下面一句中 started back 与 pleased to...之间为什么没有 to?pleased to...
(1)..., and started back pleased to have found a covey close to the house and happy there were so many left to find on another day.(前文是 Coming out while you were poised unsteadily on the icy, springy brush they made difficult shooting and I killed two, missed five; they 指 quails)
(2)She gazed at him speechless for a moment.
(3)Mr. Gregory put him in the bedroom, and he's crying fit to burst.
(4)He lay there content and comfortable .
(5)The wind blew scented out of France into her nostrils and soft on her cheek.(这里的 scented 似可看作形容词)
(6)He walked frail , insignificant , shabby , miserable —...
(7)I'm pleased to meet you.
