“If only” 的三种用法

虽说世上没有后悔药，但我们往往在一些事情完成得不到位时，就会感叹一句 “要是……就好了”。本集 “一分钟英语” 带来 “If only…（要是……就好了）” 这个句式的讲解。

If only

We use 'if only' to say we'd like something to be different.
我们用 “if only” 来表示 “要是……就好了”。

1. For the past, we use 'if only + past perfect'.
谈论过去，用 “if only + 过去完成时” 的结构。

• If only I hadn't left my keys at home!

2. For the present, we use 'if only + past simple'.
谈论现在，我们使用 “if only + 一般过去时” 的结构。

• If only I understood maths!
• If only I were better at maths!

3. To talk about the future, we use 'if only + would + verb'.
谈论将来，我们使用 “if only + would + 动词原形” 的结构。
