parenthesis的复数形式是parentheses。

a man of obscure parentage等表达方式里在obscure前面没有an或the。

parent指“父”或“母”，说“父母”必须用复数形式parents。

下面四句都不对：

paraphrase是类名词，也是抽象名词。

paradise（天堂）前面没有the。

说“一张纸”和“多张纸”通常不说a paper和papers，却说a sheet of paper和sheets of paper。

pants在英国往往指衬裤（drawers），也就是在美国所说的underpants，在美国等于trousers。

panic是类名词，也是抽象名词，所以There was (a) panic among the people里的a可有可无。

pang不是抽象名词，所以可以说a pang of...和pangs of...，不可说pang of...。

panel discussion作“专题讨论会”解，是美国英语。
