Victorian作“英国女王Victoria（1837年即位，1901年死）时代的”解，往往含有“守旧”，“拘谨”或“不合时宜”的意思。

victim是“受害者”，不一定“死”，如a relief fund for the earthquake victims和the victims who have survived the disaster。
