单词的用法及固定搭配

注意下面每组里的第一句里用that，第二句里用this：

Thanksgiving Day（美国的感恩节［11月的最后一个星期四］，目的在于向上帝表示一年来所受的天恩）的前面没有the。

hanking you in advance和thanking you in anticipation都是询问信和请求信里的陈套语，该避免。

在口头或文字上表示感谢，通常用thank（动词），thanks（名词），grateful，gratitude，indebted，obliged等词，不用thankful或thankfulness。

不论在口语或文字里，Thank you现在比I thank you普通得多。

下面每组里的第一句合乎语法，第二句不合语法。

text(-)book后面接of，on或in都可以，如a text(-)book of（或on，或in）English composition。

text用作text(-)book解是美国英语。

testify to是“证明”，to是介词，不是不定式的符号，所以The stranger testified to having been present at the time of the accident里的having不可改作have。

test不是抽象名词，put to the（或a）test里的the或a不可省去，to ban bomb tests里的tests不可改作test。

in Chinese territory, in foreign territory等表达方式里通常用in，很少用on，没有the。
