深入解读
Awry 一词结构比较简单，由前缀 a- （on）+小站（微信公众号：田间小站）之前推送过的 wry （古义作动词指“扭动、扭曲、扭歪”）构成，14世纪末出现在英语中后即用来表示“歪的、斜的、曲的”，主要指头发、眉毛、面容、衣冠等弯曲、歪斜、转向或扭曲到一侧，偏离了正常或正确位置，比如：
- 一个病态的女人披头散发冲了出来。
A morbid woman rushed out, her hair awry.
从这个概念出发， awry 发展到现在主要用来引申指“离开了计划、预期或正确的方向的”或者说“错误的”，并常用搭配 go awry 喻指“出岔子的、出错的”，着重强调局面混乱无序、乱成一团，比如：
- 他的政变计划全乱了套。
