英译汉常见错误 | a piece of cake 容易的事，小菜一碟

［例句］　Mr. Green didn't think a dry-nurse a piece of cake.
［误译］　格林先生并不认为保姆就是一块蛋糕。
［原意］　格林先生认为保姆难当。
［说明］　本例的a piece of cake（口语），意为“容易的事”、“小菜一碟”。但也并非凡a piece of cake都是此意，比如I passed a piece of cake to him中的a piece of cake就不是习语，不能理解为“容易的事”，而是“一块蛋糕”，全句意思是“我递了一块蛋糕给他”。
