汉译英常见错误 | 同盟和同盟国不一样

原文：中国不同任何大国结盟。
错译：China will not enter into ally with any big power.

正译：China will not enter into alliance with any big power.

注解：ally 作名词时表示战时的“同盟国”或从政者的“盟友、支持者”，特别是用 the Allies 这个复数固定表示第一次世界大战中的“协约国”和第二次世界大战中的“同盟国”。

用来表示结盟时， ally 是作动词常用搭配 ally oneself with sb/sth ，比如与苏格兰人结盟（ ally oneself with the Scots）。

而 alliance 则是作名词表示国家、政党的“结盟、联盟、同盟”，常用搭配 alliance with sb/sth 或者 alliance between A and B ，因此翻译时应用 enter into alliance with sb/sth 表示与某人或某事物结盟。
