深入解读
Retrieve 一词源自古法语 retreuver （再次发现、恢复、重新见到、认出）的词干 retruev- ，于15世纪初进入英语，最初用来表示猎犬等“找到并衔回”被击中的或受伤的猎物（game）。
从这个概念出发， retrieve 便用来泛指“取回、索回、领回、收回、重新得到”，常用搭配 retrieve sth from sb/sth 作正式用语使用，多意味着经过不懈努力（assiduous effort）后从不该在的地方取回某物，比如：
- 她弯腰从地上捡起她的梳子。
She bent to retrieve her comb from the floor. - 那位勤勉的警官已经设法追回了部分被盗钱款。
The industrious police officer has managed to retrieve some of the stolen money.
