深入解读

Intact 是一个与小站（微信公众号：田间小站）上周推送的 tact 同源的单词，两者都源自于拉丁语 tangere （触摸）。

其中， intact 由前缀 in- （不、无、非）+ 词根 tact （触摸、接触）构成，15世纪中期由拉丁语 intactus （未经触动的、毫无损伤的、没有玷污的、贞洁的；未被征服的）进入英语后，主要用来表示“完整无缺的、完好无损的、未受伤害的”，常意味着在一些可能会破坏完整性、整体性或健全性的经历之后，仍然完整且处于自然或初始状态，未以任何方式受到损坏或削弱，比如：

• 覆巢之下无完卵。
  When a bird's nest is overturned, no egg can remain intact.
• 那位德高望重的老人受审获释，名誉丝毫未受损害。
  The venerable old man emerged from the trial with his reputation intact.

从这个概念出发， intact 还被用来引申指女子“保持童贞的”或家畜（domesticated animal）“未经阉割的”。
