深入解读

Petty 是一个与常见单词 pretty 十分形似且容易相混淆的单词，两者可以一并联想记忆。

从词源上来看， petty 音位正写自古法语 petit （小的），14世纪末出现在英语中后也是用来表示“小的、小型的、小规模的”，侧重指在重要性、等级、规模等方面是较小或次要的，这在法律上还可以表示“轻微的”。比如：
