memor(ial)ize

1.memorialize是“向（政府等）提呈请愿书（memorial）”，memorize是“把（文字等）记住”，两个单词不可混用。例如：They memorialized the government the other day. 和I shall try to memorize all these phrases.

2.memorize不可用作remember解，如不可说I memorize him very well，该把memorize改作remember。memorize the lesson是“把这功课记住”，是一时的动作，remember the lesson是“记住这功课”，不是一时的动作。memorize通常只用于文字等，如可以说I shall try to memorize his name and address，但不说I shall try to memorize his appearance或I shall try to memorize his house。
