区别辨析 be out of favor with (sb.), fall from grace, fall out of favor with, lapse from grace 与 lose favor with

 (1) 这些短语都可表示“失宠”,用be时,表示状态,其余表示动作。其反义短语为find favor with sb., find favor in sb.'s eyes, be in (high) favor with sb., be in sb.'s good graces。

  • Sir Walter is out of favor at court/with the King.
    沃尔特爵士在朝廷上/在国王那里失了宠。
  • The Minister fell/lapsed from grace after his tactless remarks and was dismissed from his post.
    这位部长在讲了一些不得体的话后失了宠,被解除了职务。
