(1) 这些短语都可表示“失宠”，用be时，表示状态，其余表示动作。其反义短语为find favor with sb., find favor in sb.'s eyes, be in (high) favor with sb., be in sb.'s good graces。

• Sir Walter is out of favor at court/with the King.
  沃尔特爵士在朝廷上/在国王那里失了宠。
• The Minister fell/lapsed from grace after his tactless remarks and was dismissed from his post.
  这位部长在讲了一些不得体的话后失了宠，被解除了职务。
• The young prince soon fell out of favor with the people when he became King.

 (2) fall from grace还表示“道德堕落；又干坏事(旧病复发)”。

 (3) be in sb.'s bad graces表示“令某人不高兴”。

• Jim was in his mother's bad graces because he spilled his milk on the tablecloth.
  吉姆令他妈妈不高兴了，因为他把牛奶洒在了桌布上。
