(1) enviable意为“令人嫉妒的，值得羡慕的”(to be envied)，较之envious语气温和，常用于褒义；envious意为“对别人嫉妒”，含有不快或不满之意，有时也用作褒义，意为“羡慕”。

• Did you notice her envious looks when she heard I got the first prize?
  当她听说我得了一等奖时，你注意到她嫉妒的表情了吗？
• He was envious of his sister because she could afford to give so much.

 (2) jealous是“妒忌的”，对别人走运或成功表示不愉快的。

• He was jealous when he learned that she loved someone else.
