＊英语一般不说“When you come in our neighborhood.”而说“When you are in our neighborhood.”

②in the neighborhood of除表示“在……附近”外，在美式口语中还可以形容数量，意思是“大约、左右”(about, somewhere near)。

• The work will cost in the neighborhood of $100,000.
  这项工程将花费100000美元左右。

 (2) ①vicinity是地区相接，意为“附近一带”。

• There are two hotels in our vicinity /in the vicinity of/near our house.
  在我们的房子附近有两家酒店。
• Are there any houses for sale in the vicinity?
  附近一带有正在销售的房子吗？

②in the vicinity of也用于说数量，意思是“大约”，可与in the neighborhood of换用。

• His income is in the vicinity/in the neighborhood of $80,000 a year.
