(1) no more...than, not ...any more than 意思都是“和……一样都不……”，两者都表示否定，前者为书面语，后者为口语。

• He is no more able to read Russian than I am.( = He is as unable to read Russian as I am.)
  他与我一样都不能阅读俄文。
• Your story today is no more convincing/not convincing any more than the one yesterday.
  你今天讲的和昨天讲的都不能令人信服。
• He is no more fit to be a minister than a schoolboy would be.
  他与学童一样都不适合做牧师。

 (2) not more...than 的意思与less...than和not so...as意思一样，都是“不像……；不及……”，两者都表示肯定。

• He is not more diligent than you are.
  他不及你勤勉。
