(1) popularize意思是“使普及，使通俗，推广，使得人心”，可指物质的也可指抽象的。

• The company are popularizing their new products by advertising in the newspaper.

• We'll hold a special meeting to popularize their advanced experience.
  我们将专门召开一次会议，推广他们的先进经验。

 (2) extend本意是“使(在空间上或时间上) 伸展、扩大、延长”，也可引申用于指影响或应用范围的扩大。

• The country's trade extended from Europe to China.
  这个国家的贸易从欧洲扩展到中国。
• We're going to extend their experience beyond their workshop.
  我们要把他们的经验推广到他们车间以外去。

 (3) impart意思是“把气味、性质等无形之物传给、给予；(把秘密、新闻等)告知、透露；传授(知识等)”。

• The premier imparted the news of his trip to France at a press conference.
  总理在一次记者招待会上透露他要出访法国的消息。
• The red curtains impart a certain elegance to the room.
  这些红色窗帘给房间增添了某种优雅情调。

 (4) promulgate意为“宣布、公布、颁布(命令、法律等)”，也作“传播、散布(信念、知识、意见等)”解。

• The municipal government has recently promulgated a law against reaping staggering profits.
  市政府最近颁布了一项反暴利法。
• You mustn't promulgate these erroneous ideas among the masses.
  你不能在群众中散布这些错误思想。

 (5) propagate本意为“(动植物) 繁殖、增殖”，引申作“传播(消息、知识)；宣传、推广(经验等)”解。

• The new political party started a newspaper to propagate its ideas.
  新政党创办了一份报纸宣传其观点。
• He is always devoting much attention to propagating and carrying out the policies of the Party.
  他总是非常注意宣传贯彻党的政策。

 (6) publicize意思是“宣扬，宣传，引起公众注意”，又可作“推销，促销”解。

• The factory sent out many people to publicize its new products.
  这家工厂派出很多人员推销新产品。
