(1) tender意为“温和,温柔,亲切,仁慈,深情”。
- She has a tender heart and would never hurt anyone.
她心地仁慈,不愿伤害任何人。 - The mother was very tender towards her children.

(2) tender-hearted指“心肠软的”。
- She's very tender-hearted about those poor people.
对那些穷人她心肠很软。 - Though he talks rough, he has a tender heart/is tender-hearted — he always feels sympathy for the poor.
虽然他说话很粗,但心肠软——他总是同情穷人。
(3) ①gentle可作“温柔的,温和的,友善文雅的”解。
- She is a very gentle person, who never loses her temper.
她是个温柔的人,从来不会发脾气。 - He has a gentle nature/heart.
他性格温和。/他有一颗温柔的心。
②gentle还作“轻柔的,不猛烈的”解。
- There was a gentle breeze among the trees.
微风轻轻地拂过树林。 - We climbed up a gentle slope.
我们爬上一个缓坡。
(4) kind意为“亲切的,和蔼的,慈爱的,善良的”,指对别人怀有或表现出体贴、同情或爱的。
- They have always been kind to me.
他们一直对我很好。 - Will you be kind enough/so kind as to hold the bike for me?
你能好心地帮我扶一下自行车吗? - It was kind of you to help me.
你来帮我真是太好了。
(5) kind-hearted指“好心的,仁慈的”,指有和蔼性情、富有同情心的。
- He is the kindest-hearted person I know.
他是我知道的那种好心的人。
(6) kindly可用作副词,意为“亲切地,和善地”;也可作形容词,意思是“和蔼的,亲切的,善良的”。
- He was a kindly man, ready to help those less fortunate than himself.
他是一个善良的人,乐于帮助比自己不幸的人。 - She had a kindly smile and a manner wholly natural.
她有一副和蔼可亲的笑容,样子从容自然。
(7) ①warm可作“热情,亲切”解。
- He used to be a very warm person.
他以前是位热心人。 - She has a warm heart; she is a kind person.
她有一副热心肠,是一个好人。
②warm有时等于heated,表示“热烈的,激烈的”。
- His speech prompted a warm argument.
他的讲话引起了激烈的争论。
(8) warm-blooded表示“热血的,热情的”。
- He used to be a warm-blooded person when he was young.
年轻时他也曾是个热血男儿。 - When I was young and warm-blooded , I was passionate about many things that don't interest me now.

(9) warm-hearted表示“热心肠的,亲切热情的”。
- A warm-hearted woman took him in, gave him food and clothing and sent him to school.

(10) well-disposed意为“友善的,怀有好意的,有好感的,乐于助人的”。
- The manager was well disposed (well-disposed) towards the young new comer.
