(1) track除表示“追踪，跟踪”外，还可表示“踩上(泥)”。

• The dog tracked mud all over the living room rug.
  狗把客厅地毯上踩得到处是泥巴。

 (2) track in意为“(走路)带进(泥巴)”，track为及物动词，in为副词。

• Look at all that mud you've tracked in on your feet!
  看看你脚上带进来的那些泥巴！

＊“把泥巴带进屋内”也可说：trail mud into the house。

 (3) track up意为“踩脏……”，尤用于美式口语中。

• Wipe your feet well, and I don't want you to track up my new rug.
  把脚擦干净，我可不愿你把我的新地毯踩脏。
• Get out of my kitchen. I don't want you children tracking up my nice clean floor!
  都给我从厨房里出来！我可不要你们这些孩子把我干干净净的漂亮地板踩脏啦！
