(1) 英语在表示倍数时，两倍用twice或double，三倍以上用times。要表示“是……的多少倍”，可以直接在twice, double, ...times之后接weight, length, size等之类名词，也可接形容词比较级或as heavy/long/big as...结构。
- That box is nearly twice/double the size of this one.
那个盒子几乎是这个的两倍大。 - The output of this factory is now about twice/double what it was three years ago/that of three years ago.
这家工厂现在的产量大约是三年前的两倍。 - This total was more than double/three times the 1989 enrollment of 800.
