(1) 前两种说法均是“试图(做某事)；试着去做某事”之意，但在口语中多用and代替后面的不定式“to”，用try and do sth.的形式。

• Try and be more patient.(Try to be more patient.)
  试着更耐心一些。
• Try and eat a little.
  尽量吃点东西吧。
• I'll try and call you.
  我试着给你打电话。
• I think we ought to try and come to some arrangement about it.
  我认为我们应该谈谈这件事的安排。
• Let us try and help them out of trouble.
  让我们尽量帮他们摆脱困境。

 (2) 但在用try的过去时、进行时，单数第三人称或否定句式时，则要用try to do的形式。

• He tried to answer calmly, without exaggeration, truly.
  他尽量回答得沉着、真实，不作任何夸张。
• I've been trying to get in contact with you.
  我一直在想办法联系你。
• He hasn't even tried to do it.
  他根本就没有尝试去做。

 (3) try doing sth.则指“做某事试着看结果”。

• You can try sleeping on your back as a cure for snoring.
  你可以试一下平躺着睡觉来治疗打鼾。
• Try knocking at the back door if nobody hears you at the front.
  前门没人应门的话，你可以敲后门试试。

 (4) 另外，还有其他一些与try and do sth.相类似的用法，如：wait and see。

• Let's wait and see .(注意不说Let's wait to see)

 (5) 在come, go, run, hurry up, stay, stop等动词后，也常用and代替表示目的不定式的“to”(详见and, or条)。
