(1) usher意为“引领，带领”，是较正式的用词。领进用in, into，领出用out (of)领到某处用to in, out用作副词；into, to用作介词。

• He ushered in the visiting dignitaries.
  他将来访贵宾迎了进来。
• He ushered them out formally and with a great show of friendship and thanks.
  他很正式地将他们送出去，表示出极大的友情和感激。
• The headwaiter ushered us to our seats.
  领班领我们入座。

 (2) show可表示“指路，带(某人)到(某处)”。

• May I show you to your seat?

• Show him where to go.

• She showed me into a tiny bedroom.

 (3) direct可作“指路，指引(某人到某处)”解，是正式用语。

• They directed us to our seats.
  他们带我们入座。
• Can you direct me to the nearest bookshop?
  你能告诉我最近的书店怎么走吗？

 (4) let in/out意为“允许进去/出来”，较为随便。

• Please let us in . It's cold outside.
  请让我们进去，外面太冷了。
• Let me out , please.
  请让我出去。
• They let him out through a side door.
  他们让他从一个侧门出去。

 (5) admit指“允许进去”，是正式用语。

• No one but ticket-holders was admitted .
  只允许持票者进入。
• This pass will admit you to the opening ceremony.
  这个通行证将能使你进去出席开幕典礼。
• The servant opened the door and admitted me into the room.
  佣人打开了门让我进了房间。
• He was admitted to the headmaster's office.
  他被准许进入校长办公室。

 (6) take可指“带(某人往某处)”。

• Our teacher took us on a tour through the art museum.

 (7) lead可作“引导，带领”解。

• An usher led us to our seats.
  一位引座员带我们入座。
• Lead the blind man across the road.

 (8) guide可作“引导，领路”，尤指有专门知识的人如导游等带领或引导。

• He guided us through the streets to the railway station.
  他带我们穿过街道来到火车站。
• She guided them round the Art Show.
  她引导他们参观了艺术展。
• The pilot's job is to guide planes to a safe landing.
  飞行员的职责是引导飞机安全着陆。

 (9) conduct可作“引导，带领，牵引，指挥”解。

• He conducted us to his office upstairs.
  他把我们带到他楼上的办公室。
• A girl conducted the members of the audience to their seats.
  一位女孩引导观众就座。
• The servant conducted me in/out/to the door.
  仆人将我带进去/出去/到门口。

(10) escort可作“带领，护送，陪同”解，是礼貌客气的用语。

• May I escort you to the concert?
  我可以陪你去音乐会吗？
• They will escort you through the forest.
  他们会护送你穿过森林。
• Let me escort you out of the gate.
  让我陪你走出大门吧。

(11) accompany可作“陪同或陪伴”解。

• His wife accompanied him on his trip to London.
  他的妻子陪同他去伦敦旅行。
• I'll accompany you as far as the main road.
  我陪着你到大路上。
