• He is greatly valued as a good worker.
  他因是个好工人而备受重视。
• I value this car only as a means of getting to work. It has no other importance for me.

 (2) value...for指“(由于某种质量或品质而) 爱或看重”。

• I value this old book for its content, not its looks.
  我爱这本书是由于它的内容，不是它的外表。
• Children should be valued for who they are, not for what their parents would like them to be.
