[注] mend 和 repair 都可表示“修补，修理”，常常可以互换使用，如 mend/repair a road(修路)。但表示“修理手表、机器等”时，必须用 repair，而不能用 mend。而且 mend 更多地指可以通过缝纫来修补的意思。如：His mother is mending his shirt. 他母亲正在补他的衬衫。
