Schindler's List is a 1993 American epic historical drama film directed by Steven Spielberg and scripted by Steven Zaillian. It is based on the novel Schindler's Ark by Thomas Keneally, an Australian novelist. The film is based on the life of Oskar Schindler, a German businessman who saved the lives of over a thousand Polish-Jewish refugees during the Holocaust by employing them in his factories. And there is a real photographic record of some of the people and places depicted in Schindler's List.

The protagonist Schindler, who seizes the chance to earn money from the Nazi rising to power, establishes a company to make cookware. And the staffs he hired are all Jews who have been herded into Krakow's ghetto by Nazi troops. However, all of Krakow's Jews are assigned to the Plaszow Forced Labor Camp in 1942. After Schindler witnesses everything in the Camp, his conscience is awakened. Soon he begins to bribe Nazi officers to keep Jews on his employee lists and out of the camps. Eventually, Schindler has saved 1,100 people but lost his entire fortunate.

Often listed among the greatest films ever made, it was also a box office success, earning $321.2 million worldwide on a $22 million budget. Schindler's List was the recipient of seven Academy Awards (out of twelve nominations), as well as numerous other awards.
