有读者问这样一句话：

有人说这里不应用can，而应用will be able to，对吗？
一般说来，表未来以及过去能做什么，确是应用able，如：
(2)We shall be able to finish the work next week.
(3)He said they would be able to finish the work the next week.
(4)I wasn't able to finish the work in time.
(5)I haven't been able to finish the work.
然而，如指很具体而简单的事，can亦可指未来，再如：
(6)Can you come to the meeting tomorrow?
(7)I can pop in and see you tomorrow.
(8)Can 't you find a baby-sitter and come over for dinner?
具体到上述句（1）的确可用will be able to,意为“到了明年你就能读懂这本书了”。如用can，其意则简单地为“你明年可以读此书”。
