有读者问这样一道改错题：

答案是A错，应改为had known。但我认为B也错了，were arriving怎能用进行时表将来呢？
用过去进行时表过去将来，正如可用现在进行时表将来一样，并不罕见。除上述句（1）外，再如：
(2)I told her I was leaving soon.
(3)I was meeting my sister the next day.
