有一读者问：of one's age 与 at one's age 有何区别？下列几个句子中应用 of 还是应用 at:
(1)I have a son_________your age.
(2)When I was_________your age, I already had to work.
(3)You should behave less childishly_________your age.
(4)The two are_________an age.
of one's age 与 at one's age 不论在意义上和用法上都不相同。从意义上讲， of one's age 相当于“具有某人的年龄”， at one's age 则相当于“在某人的年龄上”或“在某人的年龄时”。试比较：
(5)She is a girl of my age .
她是一个和我同龄的姑娘。
(6)At her age she should know better.她这么大应该知道那是不对的。
从上面两个例句还可以看出 of one's age 与 at one's age 在用法上也不相同，of one's age 在例（5）中显然用作定语。 at her age 在例（6）中显然用作状语。
关于 of one's age 还应补充两点。一是它除可用作定语外，还可用作表语，如：
(7)She is of my age .
二是 of 常可省去，如上面例（5）与例（7）中的 of 皆可省去不用。现在再看你所提出的四个句子，应用 of 还是应用 at 时，就应该不困难了。显然，句（1）应用 of （或省去）；句（2）也应用 of （或省去）；句（3）则应用 at; 句（4）应用 of 但习惯上不省去。
顺便提及，句（4）亦可换作：
(8)The two are of the same age . （但可省去 of）
