有一读者：高中英语第一册上说 entrance 作“入口”解时，一般与介词 to 搭配，而课后练习第五题却有这样的句子：

entrance 后接 to 与后接 of 有什么区别？
英语里有些名词可后接 to，也可后接 of，二者的意义往往相似。除问中提到的 entrance 外，再请看二三例如下：
(2)I hold the key to （of ）the door.
(3)They are adherents to （of ）the new theory.
(4)He is a nephew to （of ）my mother.
但二者所表示的关系并不相同。介词 of 表示一种所有或所属的关系，而介词 to 则有“通向”或“对于”的含义。介词 of 回答“属于谁或什么”，to 则回答“具有何种关系”。
